Rajeev Ranjan Vederah is Managing Director and Executive Vice Chairman of Ballarpur Industries Limited (BILT).
Rajeev has been with the Group for more than twenty-five years. At BILT, he drives the implementation of the company's overall business strategy, and is responsible for the top line and bottom line volume and growth. He is also the key driver of new technology and quality initiatives aimed at taking BILT towards leadership position in the South Asian region.
He orchestrated BILT's spectacular turnaround in the 1990s and led the first ever overseas acquisition in the Indian paper industry, when BILT acquired Sabah Forest Industries, Malaysia's largest pulp and paper company.
Rajeev obtained his Bachelor of Technology in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, and a Master of Sciences in chemical engineering from the University of Aston, Birmingham, U.K.
Rajeev is also Chairman of Solaris Chemtech Industries Limited and BILT Industrial Packaging Company Limited. He is a key member of the Avantha Management Board.
He sits on the boards of various companies, including BILT Tree Tech Limited, Premier Tissues India Limited, BILT Graphic Paper Products Limited, Ballarpur International Holdings B.V., Sabah Forest Industries Sdn. Bhd., BILT Paper Limited, Imerys NewQuest (India) Private Limited and Ballarpur International Graphic Paper Holdings B.V. where he is the non-executive Vice Chairman.
He is also Vice Chairman - General Body & Governing Body, Thapar Centre for Industrial Research & Development.
Rajeev was ranked 8th in the global pulp and paper industry's top 50 power list for 2011 by RISI, the definitive source for information on the global forest products industry. RISI also named him Asian CEO of the Year for 2011.
Rajeev plays golf and likes to watch a good game of cricket. He is married to Neelam and has a daughter.
